About Tiffany

Tiffany Spann-Wilder : Candidate for South Carolina

Tiffany is a first generation college student, born to a teenage single mother who worked multiple jobs at times to ensure that she had a path forward for achieving her life’s goal of becoming a lawyer.

Today, Tiffany R. Spann-Wilder is the owner of Spann Wilder Law, LLC.  Tiffany’s passion for people was evident even from her days in law school and was reflected at graduation when she received the G.G. Dowling Student Award presented by the law school’s faculty for being a student in the graduating class who possessed scholarship, integrity, commitment and concern for the general welfare of colleagues.

After completing law school, Ms. Spann-Wilder served as a law clerk to the late-great  Honorable Matthew J. Perry, Jr., Senior United States District Court Judge for the District of South Carolina. She then worked as an Honors Staff Attorney in the United States Justice Department, Federal Bureau of Prisons Division. In this position she was trained as a Federal Law Enforcement Officer and graduated with Honors from The Federal Law Enforcement Center (FLETC).

In August 2000, Tiffany returned to the lowcountry and entered private practice in a local personal injury firm, then formed the first all African-American Female law firm in Charleston County in 2003.  In March 2006 opened the doors of Spann Wilder Law, L.LC. handling matters of personal injury, auto and trucking accidents and workers' compensation.

During this time Ms. Spann-Wilder also served our country as an Officer in the United States Army Reserves, Judge Advocate General’s Corp. (JAG) having been honorably discharged  in October 2006 at the rank of Captain. She has also served as an Associate Municipal Court Judge for the City of North Charleston from October 2001 until October 2005 and as a Charleston County Magistrate from April 2019 to December 2023.

She is a native of North Charleston, SC and continues to reside in the community. She gives generously of her spare time to multiple civic organizations in the community – always with a focus on bettering the lives of children and families.
